THE CLINIC

What Happens at the Osteopathic Clinic

Our manual techniques are

  • specific to the region
  • gentle
  • accurate
  • specific to the person

We don’t use ultrasound, interferential, needles, or medications. Instead, we use our hands and our senses, and we are excellent at what we do. As osteopaths, we spend a lifetime understanding bio-mechanics, real meaning is “processes of life” (vios-mechanismos in Greek). In short, our secret is this: we listen very carefully to how your body breathes.

Osteopathic Qualifications

Here at Eastern Suburbs Osteopathy, all of our osteopaths have completed 5 years of full-time university registered courses on osteopathic principles and practice. In addition, our clinic is registered with the Department of Health and Medicare Australia.

In addition, we study together in tutorials every week, as well as practices and trainings with one another. We have in house study with specialists of every type, including Sports Medicine Doctors, Podiatrists, Naturopaths, Feldenkrais, Acupuncturists, Tai Chi, Pilates, and Infant Care Specialists.

We treat newborns, elite athletes, tired parents, and overworked lawyers. Most consultations last 30-45 minutes and involve manual osteopathic therapy. This is specific to each person and each problem and involves direct and indirect techniques.
